Our commitment

Valli Forecourts Ltd and Ackworth Service Stations Ltd do not tolerate modern slavery, forced labour or human trafficking within our businesses, supply chains or contractor relationships.

01

The Modern Slavery Act 2015

The Modern Slavery Act 2015 came into effect on 29 October 2015. The legislation criminalises modern slavery and human trafficking, including slavery and forced labour.

These crimes remove or restrict an individual’s freedom in order to exploit them for personal or financial gain.

Valli Forecourts Ltd and Ackworth Service Stations Ltd fully support this legislation. Such activity is contrary to our ethics and will not be tolerated within our businesses, supply chains or contractor relationships.

02

Our businesses

Our businesses are committed to providing employees with a positive working environment that complies with relevant legislation, including human-rights, anti-discrimination and fundamental-rights-at-work requirements.

03

Our policies

Integrity underpins our core values. We are committed to conducting business lawfully and ethically and to respecting human rights throughout our operations and business relationships.

We will not knowingly support or deal with an organisation involved in slavery or human trafficking.

Our primary safeguards include:

  • Compliance with minimum-wage and employment legislation.
  • Transparent recruitment processes that are regularly reviewed.
  • Employee-vetting procedures that confirm identity and the right to work in the United Kingdom.
  • Expectations that suppliers and contractors conduct their operations ethically and lawfully.
04

Investigation and response

We will promptly investigate any allegation or indication that an area of our business or supply chain may be involved in human trafficking, slavery or forced labour.

Failure by an employee to follow relevant policies may result in disciplinary action, including termination of employment.

Where a supplier or contractor fails to meet our expectations or contractual obligations, we will work with them to address the concern. Each case will be assessed individually and appropriate remedial action will be taken.
